Dying Man Hopes He Has the Strength to Vote Liberal on January 23
71-year-old Dwight Frumpton of Windsor, who is desperately ill from diabetes and emphysema, is really hoping he will have the strength to vote for the Liberals in the upcoming federal election.
"I pray to the Lord above that I'll still be around come next month so I can get myself wheeled in to the school gym by my son, said the retired auto worker, a lifelong Liberal supporter. "And I hope I'll still have the strength to raise my arm high enough to cast my ballot for the Liberal candidate, whatever his or her name is.
"Then I'll be able to die a happy man, even if I went the next day."
Frumpton's family has vowed to do whatever they can to honour their dying father's wishes. "I know Dad doesn't have a lot of time left," said Frumpton's son Jeff, as tears streamed down his cheeks. "So if, God forbid, he passes on before election day, I'll be sure to vote a couple of times at least for the Liberals in his honour. I know that's what Dad wants."
