Always wanted to golf like an Ottawa Senator? Now you can! Another early spring for the biggest bunch of choking dogs in professional sports (trademark), the Ottawa Senators, means an early trip to the golf course. Again. Given the free time they have to dedicate to the links, the Ottawa Senators are the best golfing team in the NHL.

As an exclusive to thehammer.ca, we present to you some of the favourite golf tips of Ottawa's best-known sports stars. FORE!!!

Patrick Lalime:
Be aware at all times of where you are on the golf course. Venturing into the middle of another fairway can put you in harm's way, as you could put yourself in danger of getting hit by someone else's ball. Me, I don't have to worry too much about that, because nothing seems to hit me. Those errant tee shots from other holes just whiz right by. I'm pretty lucky that way.
Marian Hossa:
Nobody likes crushing a long drive more than I do. But early in the season, go with a long or mid-iron off of the tee until you've had a chance to get a few games in. This will allow you to keep the ball in play. An emphasis on accuracy over distance will improve your score.
Daniel Alfredsson:
A 'low and slow' takeaway is the building block of good tempo and consistent ball-striking. Concentrate on this critical element of the swing, and your game will improve. I guarantee it.

I also guarantee that I will be on the first tee at the Marshes tomorrow at 9:45. Even if it's raining. You gotta play through the discomfort.
Martin Havlat:
Get to the course good and early, so you have lots of time to warm up before your tee time. Like April.
Wade Redden:
Putting is the most important part of golf. To lower your scores, work on…that. I like trucks.
Zdeno Chara:
Make sure your clubs are the right length. My "driver" is five and a half feet long.
Jacques Martin:
Just before game five of my former team's series against the Leafs, I showed my players a video of Phil Mickelson winning the Masters. That's right. A golf video. During the playoffs. How's that for motivation? "OK guys, here's what you're going to be doing in about five days."

Now I'm looking for work.

Why yes, I am a robot.

Chris Neil:
You gotta go to the hole hard, and get that ball in there. Ya know?
Radek Bonk: (PICTURE NOT AVAILABLE)
If you're invisible like me, you can sneak on to any golf course you want without paying. It's great being invisible.
Jason Spezza:
Never forget your defensive responsibilities on the golf course. Always backcheck. Always cover your man. Always dump the puck into the corner and get to the bench, even if you're on a goddamn breakaway…

God, I'm so glad that android got fired.
